The history books have thousands of travel years. That's the Odyssey . There are the travels of Marco Polo. This Journey to the Alcarria, starring Cela, is less ambitious, and develops a smaller territory. lacks epic items, such as Odyssey, and mythical elements, such as travel Hellenistic to the new world discovered by Alexander and similar routes Renaissance, open to new worlds of Asia, Africa and America. In Journey to the Alcarria the description of the landscape is sober, the interventions of the traveler, frugal, interpretation, restrained.
Paradoxically, perhaps what I like is the painting of Madrid early riser who begins the voyage of the Galician writer.
